Since the release of Papillon’s solo project, Dead Mans Rubber City the pair have been laying dormant, formulating the next stage of their plan to lay waste to reality… and we think they’ve cracked it. Bounty District, is a dark odyssey through the empty streets of Leith oozing with twisted pop-culture references and microcosms of life in the pub. Composed in dusty lo-fi drum loops Papillion’s production sets the mood and the pair’s tongue-in-cheek approach, rowdy sometimes vulgar delivery and psychedelic punk-tinged lyricism tie it all together with a bow. Inspired by cinematographers, sorcerers and serial killers alike it’s certain to touch a nerve.
